1. Rich velvets
Velvet is everywhere this winter. Bring it into your home in a big way with statement furniture, or just nod to it with a cushion or two.

Monochrome is a classic look that works best when you have a range of prints and patterns like bold stripes, striking houndstooth or unusual geometrics.

4. Oversized florals
Forget tiny and delicate – large and leafy floral prints are everywhere at the moment.

Darkness has been brought to the forefront of interiors this year through strong, moody wall colours. But, you can of course bring this trend in with just your accessories. Go for charcoals or deep indigos and contrast it with metallics to really make it pop.

6. Gorgeous Grey
A firm favourite in many households already, grey is under the spotlight this season. Penneys sent me the gorgeous grey bowl in the photo below and you can pick it up for €3.
